Synopsis

Blood of Palermo is a feature film inspired by true events, exposing the devastating chain of medical negligence—and the consequences of distributing contaminated blood. The story follows Laura, an eight-year-old girl battling severe anemia who contracts HIV, plunging her parents into a relentless search for answers and justice in a system that failed to protect her.

In parallel, Rosalba, a woman fighting cancer, sees her life upended after receiving an infected transfusion. Amid the pain, Raúl and his daughter Sonia become a lifeline—offering the care and love she needs to keep going.

At the heart of this drama, a man chooses to sell his own contaminated blood—an act that triggers a tragic chain of events and irreversibly connects the lives of all involved. With every revelation, the film invites audiences to confront irresponsibility, human vulnerability, and the inescapable fight for redemption in a world shaped by injustice.
